The layout of the book is unique and fun to read and the cool pictures and diagrams add the extra awesome. I love pictures and diagrams!

I'm a pastor and have read many books on prayer. This book isn't specifically about prayer, but it breathed new life and power into my desire and heart for prayer. This is a theological book, but easy to read, thought-provoking, and intensely practical. You killed it, John Mark. Thank you.
I’ve been going to Church my whole life so unfortunately sometimes I have a hard time finding people I want to listen to. I can be a little like Charlie Brown and all I hear is ‘ wah wah wah wah ‘.
I really like the way John Mark speaks. He understands the Bible through the eyes of people who live now and passes that understanding on super well!
My favorite line ( just for laughs sake) is “ and if you are a millennial that means ‘it’s not my fault’ “. That made me laugh out loud.
If you struggle with God's love or the (apparent) differences between the Old Testament God and Jesus, then you must read this book. Anyone who struggles with legalism must read this book. It completely transformed the way I see God! I love how John Mark breaks down the hebrew words, puts us back in the cultural context of the time, and helps us really understand how important this passage really is.
whether you are a Christ-follower, an unbeliever, or just curious, this is a great read. You cannot close this book and avoid considering how great God truly is.
I have perused other books by Comer and his writing is refreshing, honest, and makes me want to re-read his books often.
So far, I love this book! I'm just about half-way through but cannot describe how much it has provoked me to think from a different light on the character of God. John Mark has a way of taking ideas that seasoned Christians may have thought they knew about God and he expertly enriches those ideas and brings a level of depth that I so appreciate. The first chapter had me in tears, maybe its the season I'm in or maybe its the Holy Spirit validating the words written, or a little of both, either way, I really think this book is a powerful one! Whether your a follower of Jesus or someone just searching for meaning in life, I recommend giving this book a read; it will bring well needed clarity on the character of God and your relationship with Him. Keep on writing John Mark!
What a refreshing read concerning the attributes of God! This is a book that will make you think. You will find some new insights that you had never thought of before. The author writes with a warm, friendly style. You almost feel that he is having a conversation with you. The book is profound. It should be one of the top Christian books of the year.
Remember when Rob Bell was still orthodox in his theology?
I do, it was great. I miss that.
Now I don't have to miss it nearly as much.
There's another well read, incredibly engaging, warm and intelligent pastor out there writing books that unpack the mysteries of the Christian faith.
His name is John Mark Comer and this is his best book yet.
